Do’s and Don’ts of using the pictures

Do share the images, use them in your portfolio, post them to social media, and anywhere else you post your work. But only after you have been given permission to do so. It is important to make sure you don’t publish images before it was intended. This is especially true when it’s for a brand.

Don’t alter the images without getting permission first. The images are the artistic work of the photographer. The photographers style and artistic creativity is what gives that photographer their artistic identity. That new IG filter might look cool to you but it changes the public perception of that photographers work.

DO tag all people involved in the photoshoot when posting them. Good pictures requires a team, no matter how small or big, that team deserves credit for the work they did. Quite honestly, it’s disrespectful to not tag the people who worked on the project and they probably won’t work with you in the future.

Don’t submit the images for publication without receiving permission from the copyright owner of the photos (usually the photographer). As mentioned before, unless you have a license to use the images, they are not yours to use without permission.
